The Latest Sono Pic....

Here is the latest sonogram picture of our little bean! I had an appointment with my OB on Monday and all went well! I wasn't supposed to have a sonogram but after talking to him about having shortness of breath and how that worried me since that was a factor hindering Angelina before she was born he just smiled and told me that we will just do a sonogram to make sure! He couldn't have one of his pregnant mommies worried about something like that over the holidays. He wasn't concerned at all about it but just wanted to ease my mind! The baby is doing well and is 14 weeks along now.

Larry was upset a little because he didn't get to see the sono! He just loves to go when it is sonogram day to get a peek at the little person inside. It just makes it so much more real since we can't feel the kicks yet!

Had a Ragedy Ann and Andy Halloween

This picture was taken at a small pumpkin patch! Brady wouldn't keep his Ragedy Andy hat on so we gave up! The others were taken on Halloween all dressed up and trick-or-treating.

National Prematurity Month - Sign The Petition

As you know, November is National Prematurity Awareness Month.
November 12 is National Prematurity Awareness Day.

In an effort to spread awareness about prematurity, especially in Tarrant County , we have partnered with Baylor All Saints Andrews Women’s Center to have the building lit in purple for the month. The lighting will take place Wednesday, November 5th at 6 PM, just inside the main entrance of the Women’s Center. Please join us in lighting up the building in order to give all babies a healthy start.

March of Dimes Petition for Preemies is a key part of our 2008 Prematurity Awareness Month activities. The petition is a call to action for our country to do more to help moms have healthy, full-term babies. The petition calls on federal and state policymakers, hospitals and health care professionals and the business community to take certain actions that can help reduce the rate of premature births.

Our goal in Texas is to get at least 5,000 signatures! As volunteer leaders for the chapter, your help is needed to spread the word about the petition and ask colleagues and friends to sign it. This is a great opportunity to refocus attention in Texas on the crisis of prematurity and work together to do all we can to help moms have healthy, full-term babies! Angelina's First Trip to the Dentist

Yesterday I took Angelina for her first visit to the dentist. As you can imagine she was not appreciative of him poking around in her mouth. He basically just did an exam - no cleaning. She had a complete fit until he stopped messing with her! Luckily no cavities to report and a clean bill of dental health!

We'll give her a star for bravery....and not vomitting on anyone! :)

First Sonogram :)

Well we went on Monday to visit my OB/GYN. We discussed all that had happened since the last time we saw him (he did not deliver our twins) and how that was coming along. We also asked if the same type of thing could happen with this little one. He pretty much said that it could happen but the likelyhood is very slim since what happened with Angelina is not like a syndrome or genetic. It just happens sometimes and most often in twins. So we are not to worry about that unless there is something to worry about.

It took awhile for the sonographer to get this little one on screen because the placenta is attached high and then the baby is also placed high in the sac. So with the type of sonogram we had to do it was almost impossible to get a good look at it, but finally she did! We got to hear the heartbeat (music to my ears!) and could see the flicker of the heart on the screen as well! It was a bit emotional for me but good all the same.

We will go back on 10/21 to do a follow up sonogram to get a better look at this little bean, do blood work and all the rest of the exam stuff.

Brady's first Dental Appointment

Brady had his very first dental appointment yesterday and he was such a big boy! Larry took him and reported that the only time he cried was when the dentist was rubbing the flouride on his teeth. No cavities or bad teeth to report - just a healthy mouth! The dentist did comment about the gap between his top front teeth and how that might be a problem later to which Lary explained that he got that gap by genetics!

He is a perfect little boy with healthy toothies!

Gonna be a big brother and big sister!

So we have known that I am pregnant for almost 2 weeks now and I think the new is finally starting to wear off. It seems so different than the first time I guess because it was completely new territory and of course I had to know everything there was to know about it. Now...not so much. I mean, I picked up the newest version of What To Expect When You're Expecting, mostly because I couldn't remember some of the things that can't be eaten and just because I wanted to. I also picked up a new Pregnancy Journal because I thought the first one was pretty cool.

Now instead of just taking care of me and making sure all is well here (like last time) along with Larry doing alot more than he did to make me more comfortable, we are both just trying to get enough sleep teaching Brady to stay in his bed ALL NIGHT so we can all sleep and muscling through the exhaustion to give these kids a bath, brush their teeth (which I have been forgetting to do about every other day!), and, oh yeah, don't forget to feed them!

I have to say it's nice to have boobs again though! The nausea is back but no vomiting and I can't stand the smell of chicken again but can't get enough red meat. This makes for a big problem in our dinner menu now a days.

Although this happened the all-natural way most think that we are crazy, but we are both pretty excited about this pregnancy. After initially wanting to be scared of what can happen we both have just let it go and decided to just enjoy it! I can't wait until I get big enough so the kicks can be felt through my belly. I wonder what Mr. Bradyn will think of his mommy's tummy kicking him around? It will serve him right after all the kicking and punching he did to me and Angelina!

I go for my first OB appointment on Monday and am staying positive that all is well. :)

Change for the Better!

We have changed the site for our blog! Sorry for the inconvenience, but this seems to have much more content than the other one. I hope you enjoy it!

The funny thing about surprises....

So this weekend was full of firsts for our family. Bradyn spent his first night away from all of us at his Nana's and Papa's house Saturday night. He had a great time and I was so proud of him for just having fun and not getting upset. Angelina spent her first night away from all of us with my Mom and Grandmother. She had a great time as well. More importantly my mother now feels much more confident in feeding her, administer medicine, etc. That was very encouraging!

So about the surprise.....well, you know how being a mom forces you to listen to your intuition more closely than before and how it's usually right?? Not that I had been feeling differently or what not, I noticed that my boobs were somewhat bigger than the week before and were really achy. I was late for my period but that isn't outside the norm for me. I usually run 35-35 days between cycles. I hadn't had any coffee yet that day and had this overwhelming feeling that I really needed to take that pregnancy test. Just to make sure.

Well, I did - I have to say they work a lot quicker than they did the last time I used one. This one was digital so no guessing if both the lines are colored or not. All of a sudden the screen popped out "PREGNANT". I nearly fell over! I had never had a test be positive! We didn't use a home test with the twins because we did IVF so we did blood tests for confirmation.

I didn't really know how to react. I had already taken Angelina to my mom's so Brady and I loaded up in the car and went to Target to get a couple of things and a couple of pregnancy tests! When we got home I took them out of the box and set them on my bathroom vanity along with the first test. I didn’t take them right away. Larry would be home in about 30 minutes. I was trying to decide how to tell him. They I thought, why should he get the sugar coated version, why can't he find out the same way I did. He came home, said hello to everyone and off he went to our bathroom to shower and change. He came running out of our room saying "Have you seen this thing?" I told him I had his reply was "why didn't you tell me?". I said "I really didn't know how to say that!" The look on his face was priceless! Excited and scared to death! He then tells me he needed to get in the shower, he needed to process this new information.

Needless to say after the initial shock wore off for the both of us we went to dinner to celebrate and sort of talk about the future and them home to go to bed early to an uninterrupted night of sleep - with no monitors on!
