I don't mind being a bench warmer!

Last Friday marked the last physical therapy appointment for 2010 for Miss Angelina.  Her therapist brought along a bench to work with during their session in our play room.  I was downstairs and Joanna, the PT, called down to me to get my camera and get up there quickly!  So that's what I did, I grabbed the camera and flew up the stairs.  This is what I found waiting for me.....

I don't need any help sitting on this bench!

That's right...I can even play with my toys!

Side to side doesn't bother me either!

I was so excited to see her sitting UNSUPPORTED on a backless bench!  She was able to follow the toy from side to side and bring her arms up to play with it without falling.  She held on for about 10 minutes before Joanna ever had to lay a hand on her to keep her upright.

Shots, shots and more shots!

Friday I had the unfortunate experience of taking all three kids to the doctor's office.  This was the first time I had to take them all to see the pedi BY MYSELF!  I was nervous at how it was all going to play out - would they behave, would they scream and whine, would I lose my sanity??  Well, I was pretty impressed with this bunch.  They were all very well behaved, to my surprise!  Brady and Cirstyn were nice to each other playing on the jungle gym in the waiting room.  They listened to me when it was our turn and didn't whine about not wanting to leave the fun area.  Cirstyn had her 18 month visit and let Dr. Guthrie check her out without objections.  She's on track, not that I expected anything different.  Cirstyn now in weighing in at 22.4 lbs and is 33.5" tall!  So she's still 10 and 90% just like her big brother - TALL AND SKINNY!   Now was the hard part....SHOTS!  They all needed flu shots while Cirstyn had to have her 18 month battery of shots as well.  I explained to Brady that he had to be brave to show his sisters that it was going to be okay.  He was proud that he was the big brother and he put on his best brave face.  Yes there were tears, but they were short lived.  He did manage to let the nurse know that she "hurt his feelings" but in just a few minutes he was fine.  Now it was Angelina's turn, and seeing how she was in her wheelchair they gave her her first arm shot.  Again, there were tears but she recovered in no time!  Such a big girl!  Now it was drama queen's turn....4 shots, 2 in each thigh, total devastation!  Cirstyn cried lots of tears, but in just a short while then she was able to put a smile on her face and we could leave the office.  They were all smiles leaving, Brady and Cirstyn telling the nurses bye-bye's and see you later's.  I was never so glad to just get everyone in the car and sit for a minute.  It was exhausting!  We did get a sucker for being brave, well some of us did, and sang Christmas songs all the way home!
